The Communion to the Sick Ministry serves to love our neighbor by bringing the healing presence of Christ and the support of the St. Anne community to those who are prevented by sickness or other circumstances from their usual participation in the Eucharistic community. In this way, the Ministry to the Sick keeps people connected to and supported by the St. Anne community at a time when they often feel afraid, alone, and isolated. So that ministers may perform their service with confidence, compassion, and in keeping with the Church’s recommendations for those serve in this ministry, all ministers are given individualized training, including the opportunity to observe veteran ministers bringing Eucharist to the sick and homebound. Ministers often comment that they find their own faith strengthened and enriched by the faith and gratitude of those they serve.
